Hi, my name is Angela, and I am in Virginia. I am a nurse and I have also dabbled in real estate for the past 4 years. I just completed the 60 hour course and took the Final Exam yesterday and passed. I would like to know what the best study guide would be to prepare for the National and the State exams and who my contact/mentor would be for the state of Virginia. I work evenings so it will be difficult for me to participate in the live interactive classes unfortunately. My husband and I are empty nesters and we like to travel from time to time . We also love to grill and cook out and have cooking competitions for fun. We love going to ole school concerts and festivals and gathering with friends and family from time to time. Becoming a realtor has been a long time dream of mine and now it seems as though things are falling right into place. Great to be here!

Hello all, my name is Jerome Nance. I am 19 and currently a student at ASU for finance as well as finishing up my real estate courses on the side. I love the entrepreneurial feel I get with real estate. My interest is leaning more toward the commercial side of it and if anyone has any tips or tricks to getting into CRE it would be awesome! Looking forward to this journey.

Hello @Dianne10434520
Welcome to the community. We are so glad you are here. What state are you working on getting licensed in?
6 -
Hello, I'm Gigi (Njide) and I'm currently studying for the PA exam with the intention of also taking NY exam down the road. I have been on the investment and management side of real estate for 20+ years but until recently had always been reluctant to get a Real Estate License. I have completed the 75 hours course requirement and passed both exams. I am currently going through the Quiz Banks to prepare for the PA and National Exams. I however have doubts if this will be sufficient prep work for the exams just based on the 30 and 45 hours course exams. If anyone has found other Prep Agents exceptionally useful please share with me.
I love gardening and the outdoors but it's a constant battle with biting bugs, groundhogs, deer, and chipmunks. Lol!! The birds 🐦️ love the various berries and fruit trees but they don't cause as much damage as the other animals except their chirping can be an early morning unintended alarm clock. 😍 On a good year, you might find me in the Farmer's market putting my nursery/greenhouse dealer certificate to a good use 🏝️
I'll be happy to network with others as I explore this side of real estate business.

Hi @Jerome10443714! Welcome to the community! We are glad you are here. It sounds like you are a very busy student. Commercial real estate involves a lot of finance and numbers so if you are strong in that area, you are well suited for commercial real estate.
Commercial real estate is a long haul and it generally takes longer to get started but the income can be quite lucrative. Leased properties often involve ongoing revenue streams that can even be passed down to your heirs after you die. The negative with commercial real estate is that transactions can take a long time and thus a long time until you get a paycheck. For this reason, it is easier to work for a veteran CRE agent and be willing to work for less so that you can learn and make more money down the line.
Is this information helpful?
7 -
Yes very busy, but I love staying active and learning! This helps tremendously. Thank you so much @jamielcash
