Should I get my real estate license in 2025? 🤔
If you're serious about getting your real estate license, there’s no real advantage to waiting.
Here’s why:
- Market Cycles Shift – The market is stabilizing, and by the time you're licensed and experienced, conditions may improve even more.
- Opportunities Exist in Any Market – Buyers and sellers always need guidance, and slower markets often favor skilled agents who know how to adapt.
- Training Takes Time – Licensing, education, and building a client base take months, so starting now puts you in a strong position for 2025 and beyond.
- First-Mover Advantage – Agents who enter now can gain experience while others hesitate, setting themselves up for success when conditions improve.

Proctored Exam
I assume paper and calculator are acceptable to have out during the proctored final exam, but I do not see this written anywhere. Can someone verify? Thanks
Re: Proctored Exam
Hi Ashley! For the Kaplan final exam in NC, you are allowed a blank piece of paper and you are only allowed to use it for math. You will have to show this to the proctor before and after your exam. You may not make notes about the exam. You are allowed to use a basic function calculator. It cannot be programmable and may not be your cell phone.
I do want to stress this is for NC only, every state has different rules for their proctored exam.
