Re: Proctored Exam
@Lawanda11269459 & @jamielcash ,
Regarding the Kaplan Final Exam, you will be allowed to have a simple calculator, blank scratch paper, and a pen or pencil. Here are the details for Final Exam Day:
What happens on my virtually proctored exam day?
- You will be asked to enter the virtual classroom via the LMS at least five minutes before your session is scheduled to begin. Late-arriving students may be subject to a cancellation/rescheduling fee.
- You must download Zoom Desktop Client prior to your session and have a microphone, speakers or a headset, and a video camera (webcam). The proctor must be able to see and hear you at all times (and vice versa).
- You will be asked to scan your camera around your testing area so the proctor can confirm that you do not have any available exam aids (open books, additional monitors, etc.).
- You will be asked to share your screen so the proctor can confirm that you do not have additional browser tabs open that might aid in your exam.
- You must have a state-issued identification card (you will be asked to hold it up to your camera and show it to the proctor at the time of the exam so the proctor can confirm your identity).
- To launch your exam:
- Live Online students will receive an exam password at the end of your course that must be used to access the exam (this does not apply to Texas students). This password must be entered in the presence of the proctor each time the exam is attempted.
- Online Component, Correspondence Course With Video Review, OnDemand, and Online students will have access to the exam after the course is completed.
- Once in the exam, students will also need to fill out a proctor form via the virtual classroom in the LMS. The proctor must be present when filling this out.
- After passing the exam, both you and the proctor must read the affirmation statements and check the “I affirm” checkboxes to complete the exam attempt.
- You then must go back to the Dashboard and click the “Affidavit” icon. You must accept your affidavit to ensure your course is considered complete and so we can process and release your completion certificate.
- Your proctor should give you permission to exit the virtual classroom. Closing the virtual classroom browser window/tab will exit you from the virtual classroom.
Re: Proctored Exam
Good Morning @jamielcash,
PSI allows a simple calculator (without a memory function). You may also use the electronic calculator provided. Scratch paper is usually available.
Re: Proctored Exam
Georgia requires your final exam to be proctored. Schedule your proctored exam at least 2 weeks in advance.
Things to know about the final:
- You have 2 attempts at the Final Exam.
- The exam is designed to be taken in one sitting; 20 minutes of inactivity will cause the exam to be graded and will be considered a valid attempt.
- A score of 75% is considered passing.
- If you fail the exam, you must make the same proctoring arrangements to retake your exam.
- If you do not receive a passing score after two attempts, you will need to repeat the course prior to attempting the exam again.
You have three options to complete your proctored final exam.
- You may use a Disinterested Third Party.
- A proctor must be an unbiased third party who verifies the student’s identity and confirms that no outside help was given during the course or exam. The proctor must be at least 18 years old and cannot be a family member, someone with a financial interest in the student’s success, or a coworker who supervises or reports to the student.
- You may find a proctor using the NCTA website. You can choose a location and schedule your exam with a proctor that offers online proctoring from the list on the NCTA website. Click the state of Georgia on the map to see available locations.
- Use Kaplan's Virtual Classroom Proctoring.
- The fee is $29 per proctoring session. You are only allowed one attempt per session.
@Tanya Tilton Do you know what students are allowed to have during the exam? Paper? Calculator?
