Let's Play Friday Fact or Fiction
"Once you pass your real estate exam, you're automatically licensed."
❌ Fiction!
Passing the exam is just one step. You still need to apply for your license, complete background checks, and meet any state-specific requirements before you're officially licensed to practice real estate.
✅ Always double-check your state’s process. Passing the exam doesn't mean you're done!
📚 Fuel for the Mind: My Favorite Business Books I mentioned in class last night! 📚
Hi Kaplan friends!
As someone who’s always striving to level up—both in business and life—I wanted to share a few of the books that have seriously shaped the way I think, lead, and grow in real estate (and beyond). Whether you're just starting out or you're deep in the trenches, these reads have been total game-changers for me:
✨ Ninja Selling – This one's a MUST for real estate pros. It’s not just about selling; it’s about creating value, connection, and consistency. The mindset and systems are gold.
✨ Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill – Classic for a reason. It's not just about money—it's about mindset, purpose, and persistence.
✨ The Leader Without a Title by Robin Sharma – A powerful reminder that leadership is not about your title, it’s about your influence and your impact, no matter where you are.
✨ The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy – Small, consistent actions really do create massive results. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, this book will help you regain clarity and control.
✨ The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod – Want to change your life? Start by changing your mornings. This book helped me build a morning routine that sets the tone for a productive and positive day.
✨ Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty – A beautiful blend of ancient wisdom and practical advice. It’s helped me approach business and life with more intention and calm.
📚 A few other favorites I’d recommend:
- Atomic Habits by James Clear – A masterclass in building habits that stick.
- Essentialism by Greg McKeown – Learn to do less, but better. Great for focusing on what really matters.
- Start with Why by Simon Sinek – Get clear on your purpose and watch everything shift.
- The Go-Giver by Bob Burg & John David Mann – A simple story that flips the script on what it means to succeed.
I’d love to hear what books have made an impact on YOU! Drop your favorites below—I’m always looking to add to my reading list!
Let’s keep growing, Jeni VO
