What advice would you want from a leader?
I am meeting with one of the Kaplan leaders tomorrow and I realized some of my questions were pretty basic.
It's the classic brain freeze moment because this is someone who could really share insight and I want to ask "so if you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be?"
Alas, we may get to that question but we probably shouldn't start there.
If you had time with a leader in your field, what would you ask them?

I would take some time before the meeting to do some self-reflection. What areas of your career do you have questions about? A career is made up of hard skills and soft skills that change over time. A leader can give you guidance on communication, mentoring, critical thinking, goals, and a lot more. I am glad you are taking the opportunity, and I hope you get a lot of value out of it.

I wanted to follow-up on this one as I took that opportunity to learn and network more here at Kaplan.
I realized my role can have a lot of paths and it can be very impactful to the organization. As you noted @dstewart, you kind of have to know where you want to go and that conversation was a great starting place.
I actually need to reach out to that person to see if we can meet somewhat regularly but wanted to share that when you posted that, Dan, I was like, ain't that the truth.
For anyone else reading - whenever you get the opportunity to meet with a leader or a possible new mentor, take it. There is something to learn from everyone.
