College Application timeline: 10th grade

Are you or your student a current or rising 10th grader? Here’s a quick timeline of what you might consider each year in the lead up to actually filling out a college application.

Tenth Grade:

  1. Have another conversation with your guidance counselor and parents. Are you challenging yourself appropriately in all areas of study?
  2. Continue to remain involved in activities you love and consider what leadership roles you might take on in those activities as you progress through high school.
  3. Make sure you’re forming good relationships with teachers and staying connected with your guidance or college counselor at school; this will be crucial when you need to start thinking about getting recommendations for your applications.
  4. Make sure you’re doing that mindfulness work. Mindfulness is like a muscle; it gets stronger the more you practice!
