Meet Our Experts! Jim Heitman
Hello! My name is Jim Heitman, CFP®, and I am a Senior Content Specialist on Kaplan’s Securities team.
My career in the securities industry began in 1987, when I passed the Series 7 exam. Over the next three decades, I worked as a registered representative, branch manager, independent registered investment adviser, and portfolio manager. My time with Kaplan began in 2003 as a classroom instructor, and in 2019 I joined the Securities team as a content specialist.
I am excited about helping those who are starting their careers in an industry that I truly love. My work focuses on the Securities Industry Essentials Exam, as well as representative- and principal-level exams. I especially enjoy helping students understand not only the rules and regulations they need to know, but also the reasons behind them and how those concepts apply both on the exam and throughout their careers.
