New Student Help
Vested
🗣️Hi Everyone, my name is Will and I’m a 42 year old professional out of Maryland. I just recently started the Kaplan Real Estate accelerator course. Getting started seems easy enough with the intro videos, etc. I’m having trouble trying to figure out how best to approach the course in terms of order. Should I wait on diving into the modern real estate book and flash cards until I complete the videos? Is there a specific order I should be going on? I am very much a linear learner and am having a little trouble grasping the macro of it all.
Bonus question - Does the Kaplan progress tracker update automatically or do I need to manual input my results?
Thank you in advance!

🚨Hi Will, thanks for reaching out. I'm happy to help you come up with the best study plan for your licensing course. You will want to focus on your Maryland curriculum first - the Maryland Real Estate Principles and Practice. That is the course you will need to complete to become licensed. While working through that course, I highly recommend attending some of our Live Learn classes. These are subject focused sessions with a live instructor to help solidify some of the most common or hard to grasp concepts. You will access both the calendar for those as well as the courses through your "live online learning hub". Once you get closer to the end of your course, or to help prepare for course/state testing, I recommend going through the Exam Prep videos and Qbank questions. These will help test your knowledge and preparedness for the exams. Bonus answer - the progress tracker should update automatically for you!
I hope this helps, please let us know if we can be there for anything else.

@William11143902 Welcome to Kaplan. We are thrilled you chose us as your school to complete your prelicensing courses. I agree with Amber on how to best go through your prelicensing course(s).
With your Career Launcher package, you also have access to the Real Estate Accelerator course. This course is designed to set your business up for success. We recommend starting it as you near completion of your prelicensing course(s) to kickstart your real estate career effectively.

This is great advice, thank you both. This might be a dumb question but I’m having trouble finding the Maryland specific content. The books I received are modern real estate practice, real estate exam prep, mastering real estate math, the language of real estate and all the flash cards that go with the modern real estate book. Am I missing something?

🚨You will find the Maryland specific content within your course (the Maryland Principles and Practice) interspersed with the national material. There are not two seperate books or courses for Maryland and national content. In addition, items in your Kaplan Learn account that specify "Maryland" will be Maryland specific materials. These include items such as "Maryland Real Estate Drill and Practice Qbank".
