How to schedule a Proctored exam?

Hello everyone,


I just finished my course and need to book proctored exam, how can I do so? Can I give exam from home? My course is expiring on 03/24/26, so I want to give this exam asap. I want to give today but got confused in this whole process.

    For those who may have the same question, here is how to schedule a proctored exam for New York.

    COMPLETE YOUR ONLINE PROCTORED EXAM

    New York Department of State regulations require a proctored final exam for your course(s), which must be held at a location within New York State approved by the New York State Division of Licensing Services. Kaplan has a list of confirmed Libraries throughout the state that will proctor exams. You MUST use the libraries listed, as these are the only acceptable proctoring locations. Please click Proctoring Information to go to the Kaplan New York Exam Proctoring Information page and review the Library locations on the list. You must contact the Library of your choice and make arrangements to take your exam. NOTE: Please do not call Kaplan to schedule your exam. Be sure to follow all protocols set out by the Library of your choice. Some locations may charge a fee. You are responsible for paying the fee. Please be aware that exams must be taken during the regular business hours of the Library. Students are responsible for testing the Library computers in advance of the exam date to determine that the Library network firewall does not block or interfere with access to the Kaplan LMS.

    After your course has been completed, the Proctored Exam icon will become accessible on your course dashboard. When you click the icon for the Proctored Exam, a form will pop up. You and your chosen proctor must read this form and complete all required fields, and submit the form electronically. At that time, the exam will become accessible. The exam must be completed in one sitting. Be aware that if you are inactive in the exam for twenty minutes, the exam will time out and will count as one exam attempt. The proctoring process must be followed for each exam attempt. 

    You will have 2 attempts to pass the Final Exam with the required score of 70%. Per state guidelines noted in 176.2, if you fail both attempts, you will be required to repeat the course again to obtain two additional exam attempts.

    ACCEPT YOUR AFFIDAVIT

    Once you have completed your course material and passed your online exam, you are required to accept an electronic affidavit as part of the completion of this course, stating you have completed each assigned module of instruction. You will need to complete this step before your course is considered completed.

    Can I take the final proctored exam for course 1 from home in Minnesota?

    Hello,

    Yes, you can proceed with the proctored exam. To do so, you will need to arrange for a disinterested third party (such as a neighbor or librarian) to serve as your proctor.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Have your proctor complete the Third-Party Proctor Affidavit
    2. Log in to your LMS
    3. Click on Proctored Exam
    4. Begin your exam while the disinterested third party is present to observe you
    5. After the exam, the proctor should complete and sign the affidavit
    6. Email the completed affidavit to Kaplan using the email address provided on the form
