SBA Summer Plans

Hi everyone! My name is Bree and I'm a rising Senior studying Marketing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I'm so excited/sad to be a senior this year, but I can't wait to make so many amazing memories throughout this last year! No matter what year you are now, make sure you soak it up; time goes by so fast! I know everyone says that, but it's so true. I swear I was just starting Freshman year - no idea where 3 years went! Go have fun nights with friends, and remember to enjoy school while you can!

This summer, I've been super busy working - seriously, I have 6 jobs (yes, that is real. No, I don't know how I'm doing it - I'm surviving off of matcha lattes). My main focus this summer is my internship with Sherwin Williams as a Sales Intern. We've been doing so many fun activities in the stores, and we've been working on creating an innovation that we think the company should adopt in the future as our summer project. They are actually flying my intern class to North Carolina in a few weeks to present our ideas, and they make it a competition with the entire nation, so whoever wins the project will possibly have their idea implemented in the company! Besides my internship, I've been waitressing and bartending at a country club near my hometown, which I think is super fun! Other than that, on my days off, I try to get outside as much as possible and hang out with my friends!

My advice for you guys is to relax a little bit and really enjoy college. A lot of people get so caught up in trying to be the "best" with grades, internships, volunteering, etc. that they forget that you only experience college once and you have to enjoy it! I know I've been trying so hard to do everything during college so far too, but I'm going to try and save more time for fun things that I want to do during my last year! If you're guilty of skipping things you really want to do for studying or work, make yourself a promise right now that you will just do at least one thing you're looking forward to - you deserve to have fun! I promise all of your hard work is going to pay off, even if it doesn't seem like it right now, so try not to get discouraged!

Comment what you're looking forward to the most for the rest of the summer or the upcoming school year - I love hearing everyone's plans! For me, I'd have to say all of the Chicago fests they do in the summer/fall - specifically Italian Fest and Taste of Greektown! I love getting to see all of the vendors and the handmade items; it's such a fun activity to do with my roommates!

Okay, that's all. Thank you guys for reading, can't wait to read all about your plans too :)
