My Summer in Bali!
Hey Kaplan community, it's Hanan from University of South Florida (Go Bulls)! This summer I am spending my time in Bali, Indonesia (a literal dream, I still can't believe I'm here). I'm doing a really cool research internship with the NIH and UAB looking into women living with HIV and educating on preventative measures to developing HPV and cervical cancer. But on Instagram, I'm at the beach almost every other day 😅. I'm having a blast with my team here exploring the island and all it has to offer, as well as learning some Bahasa Indonesia and Balinese phrases like "suksma" which means thank you in Balinese. I'm so grateful I've been able to get such a great opportunity to see another part of the world and be able to interact with different people.
I am going into my 4th and final year now at USF and am hopefully going to apply this next cycle for medical school, I am starting my MCAT prep now with Kaplan's course! Bali has a really big coffee and cafe culture so I will definitely be making the most out of my time here by studying at a new coffee shop every other day.
This summer has definitely taught me to balance having fun and working hard (even though the scale is tipping towards having fun more 😁)!
