My Pre-Med Summer
Hey all! It's Sydney from The University of Alabama! I'm a SBA at UA about to enter my senior year as a chemistry major on the pre-med track, which basically means I'm at the busiest summer I've ever had. I'm in the middle of the process of applying to medical school, and I hope to have my primary application submitted to AMCAS by the end of this week! It's hard to believe that I'm already applying to medical school, but I can't wait to be through the process and to see where I'll be spending my next four years. I've also been studying for my MCAT, which I take next month! I've been spending a lot of time using my Kaplan course and books while doing flashcards and AAMC full lengths. This is my second time taking it, and I can't wait to be done! I'm also working as a student intern in a pulmonary clinic at our local children's hospital!
However, I've not just been studying! I spent two weeks of May in Ghana on a medical outreach trip, which was so life-changing, and I already miss our kiddos and host family we met there so much. I'll be traveling some this summer to go home and visit family, as well as to Kansas City for a leadership conference. I've absolutely loved being an SBA the past year and a half while stepping into the social media role this summer, and while I'm enjoying my summer, I can't wait to be back and working with my team (#TeamVibe) this school year!
