WHERE YOU ARE:

  1. Where did you grow up?
    1. Did you face any challenges in that environment?
    2. What were your experiences with healthcare?
    3. What worked well? What didn't?
  2. Where did you go to college?
    1. How was it different from home?
    2. How did you adjust to the new atmosphere?
  3. Have you traveled to different places?
    1. For work? For pleasure?
    2. On a medical mission?
    3. In the U.S.? Abroad?

In these various settings, think about what you have learned about other cultures, ethnicities, and people of backgrounds different from yours.

Consider how this knowledge will enable you to serve patients effectively and compassionately.
