🚨Are you planning to get in some extra MCAT study over the winter break? If you said yes, you're in good company - many MCAT students try to maximize the academic winter break to get in some extra MCAT practice. This can definitely be helpful, but we also want to be careful we don't try to study too much - don't go from studying 2 hours a day to studying 8 hours a day. And not trying to study too much is important advice throughout our MCAT journey. You are a human, and humans need rest time - be sure to schedule in time off so you don't burnout. Burnout is a real danger if we don't listen to our bodies and minds, and can really set us back in our prep. Struggling to stay focused? Your brain needs a break. Struggling to stay awake? You might need a nap. Feeling grumpy and like you're not retaining information? You may need a snack. Building scheduled time off into your study plan can help prevent burnout, and taking unplanned rests or breaks as needed help us stay healthy and focused.
What are some ways you do (or will do) to help prevent burnout?
