Are You Taking The MCAT Tomorrow? Here's What to Do.

Options

The big day is tomorrow, and here is a checklist of items to ensure the testing day goes smoothly.

  • Be equipped with:
  • An MCAT®-Accepted ID
  • Comfortable clothing, especially clothing that you have worn for your mock exams: sweats, long-sleeved tshirt, hoodie. No jewelry or watches. Nothing in your pockets.
  • Food and drinks that allow for steady blood sugar levels, will not make you drowsy or hyper, and also keep you from being hungry or thirsty. These include sports drinks, peanut-butter crackers, trail mix, etc. You will be storing the food and drink in your locker.
  • If it is possible, take a trip to the test center building so that you can more easily find parking, building, and room on the test day. Plan to arrive at the testing center 30 minutes prior to the exam start time in case of traffic. Examinees are checked in the order they arrive.
  • Keep in mind, the test center will provide the following items: earplugs/headphones (personal earplugs are not allowed), storage key, noteboard booklet, fine-point marker
  • Read the Examinee Agreement in preparation for the Certification Statement that you will have to understand and agree to, to take the exam.
  • Get a reasonable amount of sleep. Don’t do any heavy studying before the test, because this is not a test you can cram for. Aim to be in good physical and mental condition.
  • If you have any MCAT-related questions, AAMC staff are available at 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. ET on weekdays 202-828-0600 or form.
