If lizards also lower their metabolic rate, how can we not contribute that as a way that they lower their body temperature?

    I'm familiar with this particular question though, so I did look it up. We're told in the passage that reptiles can't sweat, so if they're hot, they lower their metabolic rates, but there's a certain minimum that the organism needs to live. An organism that can proactively regulate their body temperature by employing strategies like sweating are much more able to survive high temperatures.
