Did you know that the longest-running trial in U.S. history lasted 31 years?
The case, known as the "Jarndyce and Jarndyce" of water rights litigation, involved a dispute between the State of California and the City of Los Angeles over the use of water from the Owens River. The trial began in 1938 and finally ended in 1969 with a victory for the City of Los Angeles.
