Treat Yourself!
Hey, Future Lawyers!
It's almost the weekend - how are you going to reward yourself for this week's hard work?
Let's face it, between LSAT prep and law school itself, you've got a lot of work ahead of you. One of the best ways you can help yourself stay motivated (and sane) is to remember that breaks are just as important as the work. Don't just build study time into your weekly schedule, be sure to plan your reward time as well!
Nothing helps us sit down to a few hours of reading more than knowing there's an ice cream excursion or an episode of our favorite TV show at the end of it. And you should absolutely not feel guilty about your down time! Our brains retain information better when given time to rest, absorb, even forget and then remember again later. Learning bonus!
So, what are some of your favorite treats to give yourself after some focused study? I like to make things, like a LEGO set or a knitting project, or do some type of puzzle. But, sometimes I know my brain needs extra rest - hello, Netflix!
