Admissions Essays Tips

  1. Start brainstorming early! I began brainstorming my essay topics the summer before I applied.
  2. It is not about what you write, it is about how you write. The essay topic does not matter, pretty much at all, especially for your personal statement. Instead, focus on compelling writing that will demonstrate to admissions officers that you have the skills necessary to become a legal writer.
  3. Take time to do the optional essays. There is no reason not to. You might as well demonstrate to schools that you took the time to thoughtfully complete their application.
