In our last post, we discussed how to get a 170, but is 170 even that "magic number? to aim for? Let's continue the conversation.

  • A 95th percentile LSAT score makes your application very strong:
    • The T14 schools all have median scores of 170-175
    • The majority of first-tier schools have median scores in the 165-168 range.

A 170 will give you an opportunity to qualify for scholarship offers at many law schools.

The TAKEAWAY here should be: A 170 is awesome BUT it is not a guarantee of admissions for the most competitive schools. For most test takers, concentrating on improving by 10 percentile points at a time will be a more positive and attainable goal than making “170” into a magic number.
