Hey, future lawyers! If you are have gone through the tough part—LSAT, applications, the wait to hear from schools—here are some tips for you as you prepare to enter your 1L year from a rising 2L at Duke Law School!

  1. Don’t compare yourselves to others! Law school is a total mind game and it’s easy to feel imposter syndrome, but have confidence that you’re there because you deserve to be and you do have the tools to succeed.
  2. Don’t slip up on readings. In undergrad it’s easy to skip a day or two in the curriculum and skate by, but in law school, the pace is already so fast that it’s too easy for hundreds of pages to pile up if you don’t stay on pace.
  3. Take care of your mind and body! Exercise, sleep, and a healthy diet is so fundamental.
