Preparing for the "Final Final," Aka the Bar, After Finals

Hey Students,

Congrats on approaching the end of your 3L year! Many of you are currently in, or about to be in final exams and we all know that can be exhausting. What’s different this time around though is that the proverbial “Final Final Exam,” aka the bar exam is around the corner.

Students often ask “How do I deal with going right from finals into bar prep?” It’s a great question and does depend somewhat on your personal schedule. If you are able to study full time or close to it during bar prep, you can probably give yourself some time off between the start of bar prep and your last final exam. Hopefully that last exam is before Mid May and you can give yourself a few days break before diving into the substantive parts of your Kaplan course.

If that isn’t your situation, that’s okay too! The good news with your Kaplan course is that it is not an overwhelming amount of work per day; and the amount of work is slightly less per week early on in the summer. You can jump into studying with the mindset that, “This is your FINAL FINAL,” and you’re going to give it your all.

I like to think of the bar exam as the last few miles of a marathon. You are so close to achieving your dream. Give it your all and you’ll forever be able to say you passed the “Final Final,” on the way to your license. Let us know if you have any tips or tricks, or how you’re going from “Finals,” to the “Final Final,” this summer in the comments. Thanks all!

Victor
