The "New Year, New Me" energy officially died somewhere between the third cup of coffee this morning and page 40 of a 100-page reading assignment. ☕️📖
Whether you’re a 1L staring at your first set of grades, a 2L drowning in journal citations, or a 3L counting the days until graduation, the end of January is a heavy week.
Here is your "End-of-Month" Checklist:
- The LSAT Score Drop: To the prospective students (0Ls) in this group, whatever that number says, remember: it’s a key to a door, not a reflection of your worth as a future advocate. Take a deep breath. 🧘♂️
- The "Job Hunt" Hustle: 1Ls, if you haven’t secured a summer internship yet, do not panic. Applications for judicial internships and public interest spots are peaking right now. 2Ls, keep an eye on those OCI timelines for 2027.
- The Grade Check: Fall grades are out. If you crushed it, congrats! If you didn’t, remember: the person who finishes last in their class is still called "Counselor." Adjust your study habits, but don't lose your confidence.
- Mental Maintenance: It’s cold, it’s dark, and the library is crowded. Take 20 minutes today to do something that has nothing to do with the law. Your brain needs the "off" switch.
Where is your head at right now: Are you still riding the 'New Semester' wave, or are you already counting down to Spring Break?
