Maintaining Your Mental Health While Bar Prepping

One of the most important things you can do for yourself during bar prep is maintain both your mental and physical health. Here are a few ideas of things you can do to stay healthy:

  1. Take your vitamins - when stress is at an all time high, your immune system tends to be at its lowest point. Make sure you are taking vitamins to keep your immune system healthy and avoid all germs.
  2. Take breaks! - A good rule of thumb is to stand for four minutes every hour and make sure you are giving your body enough time to stretch.
  3. Fuel your brain - Your brain is an organ that needs training for this exam in the same way that your body needs training for a marathon. Eat healthy, balanced meals; make sure you are drinking enough water; and incorporate rest days into your training schedule.
  4. Maintain a good sleep schedule - While it may seem like a good idea to study in the wee hours of the morning, recognize that a good sleep schedule is important. The bar exam does not happen at midnight - your studying shouldn’t either.

Believe in yourself – Lastly, and most importantly, believe in yourself. You have come this far and you should be proud of your accomplishments!
