FAQ: Can I sign up for bar prep before I have decided where I plan to sit for the bar exam?

Options

Hey Students,

Yes and Yes! To be more descriptive I’ll answer each here:

Signing Up Before Knowing Which State - You can, and should, absolutely sign up for Kaplan even if you aren’t sure which state you’re going to take the bar in yet because Kaplan allows you to change the state you’re taking anytime, at no cost. Signing up earlier also gets you a better price. Kaplan has our “Best Price Guarantee,” where you’re guaranteed the best promotion from the day you put a $20 deposit down, till the day you take the bar. You can’t lose by signing up earlier.

Bar Prep Jurisdiction Specific - It depends is the answer. Some states overlap, whereas other states have their own exam entirely. Florida for example has their own Multiple choice questions (100 of them), and own state essays for one of the days instead of the Multi State Performance Test. We encourage you to reach out to your local Kaplan Director if you have any questions, or post them here and we can help. Thank you!

Victor
